BACK TO SCHOOL

Dear Friends and Neighbors, As summer draws to an end and my two daughters go back to school, it reinforces for me the vital and important role that teachers play in the everyday lives of our children. Thank you teachers, administrators, and the entire school staff for making a difference in our children's lives, especially as we begin another new school year! As a product of the public schools in Richland School District 2, I understand that public education is a worthwhile and necessary investment for our state. I will continue to be a strong advocate and voice for our schools and believe that investing and having access to quality education is key to preparing our children for the jobs of the future. I am honored to have the opportunity again to partner with the Office Depot Foundation to present 150 colorful new sackpacks containing essential school supplies to deserving students at Windsor Elementary and Satchel Ford Elementary as part of Office Depot Foundation’s 2017 National Backpack Program in partnership with the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL). As a NFWL Education Team Leader in South Carolina, I commend the Office Depot Foundation on its efforts to help provide this benefit to so many wonderful children. Each sackpack includes a zippered pouch containing essential back-to-school items - a ruler, four crayons, a pen, a pencil, a pencil sharpener and an eraser. Thank you for giving me the honor and privilege of serving you and our community at the State House. Best wishes,
